Group Lessons

Group lessons are a great way for swimmers to learn how to swim and meet new friends. The JCC offers various date and time options for swimmers 3 years and older. We try to keep smaller class sizes so our instructors can spend more time teaching towards the students individual techniques.

If you have any questions or concerns about appropriate class level or for more information contact the Aquatics Coordinator Darrian Doucet or 403-444-3147.

Preschool (ages 3-5y)

Five levels for independent children ready to learn without a caregiver in class. This program provides children with a head start on learning to swim. These preschoolers learn to be comfortable in the water and have fun. They develop a foundation of water skills and a healthy respect for the water before getting in too deep. Water smart education is taught in all preschool levels.

Swimmer 1-6 (ages 6y and up)

The Swim for Life Swimmer progressions challenges school-aged children to learn safe entries, deep water support, underwater skills and swimming strokes. These six Swimmer levels also develop everlasting habits for healthy, active living. Each level also includes Water Smart education.

Junior Masters Swim Club (ages 9-15y)

Participants will have the opportunity to work on stroke improvement and swimming endurance. This is a perfect fit for kids who have completed Swimmer 6 and have yet to start aquatics leadership programs.

Parent & Tot

Based on the principle of "within arms reach", this program is for children and caregivers to participate together. Not skilled-based, but focused on creating a fun water experience.

Swim Patrol

A program designed for those swimmers who are looking for a challenge. This is the perfect program for swimmers who have completed the swimmer program but are not old enough for the Bronze courses.
